From 2nd till 7th of July 2008 the 22nd edition of Aruba Hi-Winds where Andras Marton, Hifly team rider finished third in freestyle discipline took place.
This year almost 150 competitors came from all over the world to participate in the 22nd Aruba Hi-Winds wind- and kitesurf event. Since its early years in the mid-eighties, when windsurfing grandeurs like Robby Naish and Bjorn Dunkerbeck took part in this event year after year, the Aruba Hi-Winds has remained one of the biggest names in windsurfing events in the Caribbean including freestyle, windsurfing and kiteboarding.
Aruba is blessed with almost ideal wind- and water conditions for windsurfing and kiteboarding. Whether you’re a traditional down-wind slalom racer, a fearless freestyler or if you’ve joined the newest craze in watersports: kiteboarding, the Aruba Hi-Winds is the right event for you!
Andras Marton the Hungarian Hifly team rider this year also participated in the Hi-Winds in freestyle discipline and ended up on the 3rd place in the „King of the Huts” category behind Douglas ’Cheo’ Diaz and Quincy Offeringa. Andras had been training and testing his favourite Hifly Twinstyle board in Aruba for 6 months.
